Christian
Christian means "follower of Christ," from the Latin Christianus. Christian was used in the Middle Ages as a masculine name and as a feminine name. In modern times, Christian is usually a masculine name, but is still given to some baby girls as well. The most famous bearers of the name Christian have come from Denmark, including 10 kings of that country and Hans Christian Andersen, who wrote fairy tales such as "The Princess and the Pea," "The Ugly Duckling," and my personal favorite, "The Brave Tin Soldier."
